New & Noteworthy

Our Club Lily, Lilium regale

Diana Bower will be collecting/receiving lilies Monday June 18th. We need lilies from the collections from 2006-2015. They need to be correctly named and identified with the collection year. Diana will receive in town at her office - 1415 Rolkin Court Suite 301 Charlottesville 22911. A spike of lilies is in BEST condition when the lower flowers are open but not faded and the upper ones are still in bud. The flowers should not be bleached from the sun or wilted and be free of disease and injury( especially deer chomping). The stems should be straight so staking, deer spray and fertilizing now is important. Anthers should be present. Pictures of all the past years collections can be found HERE via the GCV website.

Join Leslie Harris at her home on Friday, July 13th from 4:30 - 6:00pm to view her lovely garden before the public sees it on Saturday for a "Through the Garden Gate" tour. Come see all the hard work that has gone into this garden while enjoying wine and cheese with your fellow AGC members. Many surprises will await you!

UVa Hospital created this lovely arrangement from the flowers we delivered.

Using Melinda Frierson's pitcher plant, sarracenia really adds a WOW factor. Thank you to all that donate plant material thus far. Please remember to share some of your flowers and greens on Monday. Bring to Cindy Schutt's house between 10 am - 2pm. Buckets are waiting by her kitchen door. 2020 Dogwood Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22901
